Grant program offers $50,000 and assistance to AAM startups

Advanced air mobility (AAM) startups may apply through June for $50,00 grants and assistance launching a Winston-Salem-based venture.

Venture Winston Grants (VWG) seeks entrepreneurs who have the potential to shake the status quo but lack the resources and guidance needed to develop and build minimally viable products in three sectors: aviation and aerospace, nutrition and agriculture and health and well-being.

VWG is accepting applicants from across the country, but applicants must be prepared to move at least 51% of operations and a co-founder to Winston-Salem for one year.

A cohort of selected entrepreneurs will receive $50,000 in non-dilutive, non-equity grants. In addition to funds, entrepreneurs will have a personal mentor and team helping them throughout the program, free office space and access to a network of industry leaders and investors through our partnerships with the New Ventures Accelerator and Winston Starts Incubator.

The application window is open from May 1-June 30, 2021. VWG will complete a detailed selection process to determine 10-20 top disruptors and announce the cohort on Nov. 1, 2021. The inaugural cohort will begin on Jan. 31, 2022.
